Résumé

In Arras, a town in the French department of Pas-de-Calais, there is a unique organization that works to aid perpetrators of domestic violence. Created in 2008 at the initiative of the Arras Urban Community and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Home des Rosati houses up to eight men for periods ranging from three weeks to several months. The support team provides intensive therapeutic and preventative work.

Who are these violent men? What social and psychological care is offered here? Should rehabilitative efforts such as this one be developed in place of punitive responses in France? These are the questions at the heart of the current debate on domestic violence that this film aims to answer by following the day-to-day lives of six men, from their arrival at the Home des Rosati until their departure.
