Resume
The beauty and variety of French beaches is one of our most precious treasures, covering more than 5,000 km. Now the holiday destination of one in two French people, the beach is part of our lives, but it wasn’t always so. From the first therapeutic baths to overcrowded shores, from aristocratic resorts to “Paris-plage” and from beach pyjamas to monokinis, this film tells the story of how beaches have transformed our territory, our leisure activities and our customs. Over the decades, they have become a symbol of freedom, a place where we can rediscover a fantasized state of nature, a fragile and indispensable paradise.
