A documentary written and directed by Katia Chapoutier
Resume
Every year, 30,000 children between the ages of 6 and 16 remain outside the school system in favor of homeschooling. This figure has doubled in the past ten years and is still on the rise, ever since school became compulsory starting at the age of 3 instead of 6. What does life look like outside of school? How do children learn without a classroom or a teacher? Why do some make this choice, and what are the consequences, the advantages, and the limits? With the help of testimonies from families, young learners, and child development specialists, this film sheds light on these alternative learning models that challenge the norms of the school system.
