Resume

Paris is known as the City of Love. However, it was only in the 19th century, along the Haussmann transformation of the city, that it started to be recognized as such. How did the city gain this reputation? Between the Grands Boulevards and the banks of the River Seine, under the archways and inside the cabarets, the film looks back at the making of this myth and revisits, with the help of emblematic characters and archives, a century of cultural and social history.
